Your data is stored in India
All data stored in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1 region)
Every flat record, dues entry, phone number, and vendor contact is stored on Amazon Web Services servers physically located in Mumbai. This is not a setting we can change — it is hardcoded into how Torvi is built. AWS publishes their data centre locations publicly if you wish to verify.
Honest limit: Like all WhatsApp-based services, messages are routed through Meta’s global network infrastructure before reaching our servers. This is how WhatsApp works for every business worldwide — including banks, e-commerce, and government services using WhatsApp. Your data is stored and processed in India. The delivery channel (WhatsApp) is global.

Residents see only their own data
Your phone number is your identity — no login, no password, no workaround
When Flat 101 messages Torvi, the system fetches only Flat 101’s dues and history. There is no way for Flat 102’s data to appear — not through any button, link, or workaround. There is no login page that can be shared, guessed, or hacked. Your SIM card is your access credential.
What this means: Even if a resident forwards the Torvi number to a neighbour, the neighbour sees only their own flat’s data when they message from their phone. Access is tied to the number, not the conversation.

Your society’s data is never shared
Complete isolation between all societies on Torvi
Each society’s data is stored with a unique identifier that cannot overlap with another society. Siva Balaji Nilayam’s residents cannot access, query, or interact with any data from any other society — even accidentally. Think of it as separate bank lockers, not a shared vault.
What we never do: We never use your society’s data to train AI models, show advertising, or share with third parties. Your dues data and resident information is used only to answer your society’s queries.

Admin controls everything
Secretary has full authority over all data changes
The admin can add residents, remove residents, update dues, correct any record — all via WhatsApp. No Torvi employee can change your society’s data without the admin’s instruction. The secretary is the authoritative source, not Torvi.
Role separation: Only phone numbers marked as “admin” during setup can modify records. Residents can only read their own data — they cannot update dues, add contacts, or access other flats.

Built to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act
We collect only the minimum data required to run your society — flat numbers, phone numbers, and dues data provided by your admin. We do not collect names, email addresses, Aadhaar numbers, or any other sensitive identifiers unless your society admin explicitly provides them.
What we collect: Phone number (for identity), flat number (for lookup), dues data (for queries), and society info (for context). Nothing else. Nothing purchased, inferred, or scraped.
Always available, not always watching
Torvi responds to messages — it does not monitor or log conversations
Torvi processes each message to generate a response and then discards the message content. We do not maintain a searchable log of what residents ask. Message deduplication uses a short-lived record (24 hours) to prevent duplicate responses, then expires automatically.
Audit trail: We do maintain a log of payment transactions and ledger updates — these are your financial records and available to the admin at any time.

Torvi collects only the data necessary to provide society management services — flat numbers, phone numbers, and dues data shared by your society admin. We never sell your data. All data is stored in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1). Like all WhatsApp-based services, messages are routed through Meta’s global infrastructure — the same infrastructure used by all businesses using WhatsApp. Your data is stored and processed in India. Residents can request export or deletion of their data at any time by WhatsApping “Export my data” or “Delete my data” to the Torvi number, or by emailing hello@torvi.in. We comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023.

Terms of Use

Torvi is provided as-is during the pilot phase at no cost to pilot societies. By using Torvi, your society agrees to provide accurate dues and resident data. Torvi is not liable for errors arising from incorrect data provided during setup. Torvi acts as a platform and does not handle or process society funds.
